COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course reviews federal tax issues involving various forms of employee and non-employee compensation. Topics include wages, fringe benefits, specialized payments, tip income, employment classifications, FICA considerations, and other compensation arrangements that present unique tax and reporting issues.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate the tax treatment of various forms of employee and nonemployee compensation.
- Identify special tax and reporting rules applicable to wages, fringe benefits, tips, incentives, and other compensation arrangements.
- Recognize FICA and employment tax considerations affecting specialized workers and compensation situations.
- Assess the proper tax treatment and reporting of less common compensation and payment arrangements.
